Lessons Learned (and a new recipe!)
First off, I would like to provide my deepest gratitude to my first-time customers that were willing to give my baked goods a chance! However, there were some rough spots that were pointed out, and I’ll address those with the following improvements:
The packaging was a bit excessive for the items!
I agree - The single items in each poly bag aren’t the best for mass orders, and I’m looking into packing the cookies within resealable tamper-evident gift bags, which I will preview in a future blog post!
The brownie flavor balance is off with the nut-free variety, and some were squished upon delivery
I also agree, since I originally came up with the recipe concept to emulate a popular candy bar, and it comes off as too sweet without the balance of peanuts. Additionally, the nougat became too soft while in transit, which led to the squish issue. I’ll temporarily retire the nougat-filled brownie concept for mail delivery until I can work out the kinks.
The packaging is plain!
Yes, it is pretty spartan for the time being - my cash flow is on the low side, but once I have some additional income, either from the baking side or from tech (if anyone has a need for AWS, Windows, or Linux IT support, let’s talk!), I would love to invest in some cute inserts to show off the unique flair of Sweet Bites and Bytes!
Thanks for taking the time to reach out, and as a reward for making it this far, here is a sneak peek of one of the new recipes!
Delicious citrus goodness, with a twist! See you again soon!
